PhD Candidate, Biology, UNC-CH

salomejg@ad.unc.edu

Salomé completed her biology undergrad in Colombia and then moved to Mexico to pursue her master’s degree in marine ecology. Her work focuses on movement ecology and population dynamics of sharks and rays to understand their migration and behavior. For her PhD dissertation she wants to explore how the movements of hammerhead sharks and eagle rays are related to oceanographic features in Galapagos waters and, if possible, to predict those movements to improve their conservation measures.
