BS Environmental Studies, UNC-CH 2019
Emily earned her BS in Environmental Studies from UNC in 2019. During the summer of 2019, she worked with Dr. Arce-Nazario, Mia Collerado, and Francisco Laso on a project to map the highland and agriculture regions of three of the Galapagos islands. Her last semester at UNC she worked with Dr. Stephen Walsh as a teaching assistant for his Galapagos class as well as in his freshman seminar, hoping to spark interest in islands around the world for new UNC students.
Emily is now a farm manager for her small family farm and is teaching high school environmental science. She hopes to build her own regenerative agriculture farm, even taking some of the ideas she learned working on the Galapagos to continue to find sustainable farming options.
