Dr. Steve Walsh and colleagues just published an article on managing tourism in the Galápagos in the Journal of Sustainable Tourism. This work uses a decision-support system based on a system dynamics model designed to examine tourism management in the Galapagos Islands. The system presented is a quantitative scenario-planning tool that can be used by policy-makers to better understand the Galapagos Islands as a coupled human–natural system.
