The Galapagos Council represents a mechanism for units across UNC Chapel Hill’s campus to engage with the UNC Galapagos Initiative to foster and produce interdisciplinary research, education, and community outreach and engagement in the Galapagos Islands. This is achieved through access and direct interactions with the Center for Galapagos Studies, the Galapagos Science Center, Universidad San Francisco de Quito, and members of the International Galapagos Science Consortium.

There are currently 9 Units at UNC-Chapel Hill that are members of the Galapagos Council:

  • Office of the Provost
  • Office of the Vice Chancellor for Research
  • College of Arts & Sciences
  • Gillings School of Global Public Health
  • School of Medicine
  • Eshelman School of Pharmacy
  • School of Nursing
  • School of Social Work
