Postdoctoral Researcher in Imagery Science

Francisco Laso is working with CGS scientists on the archival and public availability of satellite and drone imagery associated with the Galapagos Science Center’s terrestrial and marine ecology research.

He is an ecologist with geographic science training, and his research situates humans, and farmers in particular, as crucial components for the conservation of the Galápagos Islands. Francisco’s work combines quantitative and qualitative methods to evaluate the complex interactions between land use, invasive plants, and protected wildlife.
