Dr. Quiroga is interested in human ecology, political ecology, and medical anthropology in regions such as the Galapagos, the Amazon, and the Andes. He has done research on topics that range from biodiversity vulnerability to religion and traditional medicine.

Dr. Quiroga has led the research and international programs at USFQ for over 10 years. His most recent position was Dean of Research and International Affairs as well as Co-Director of the Galapagos Campus in San Cristóbal, Galapagos.
