Dr. Diego Quiroga and Dr. Carlos Mena will lead a seminar, “Galapagos in Crisis: Challenges for Science.” Their presentation, which will be followed by a discussion, will explore the current population and conservation challenges facing Galapagos, and how these can be examined through collaborations between our two institutions, the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and the Universidad San Francisco de Quito.

Dr. Diego Quiroga is Vice President of International Programs, Professor of Anthropology, and Co-Director of the Galapagos Academic Institute for Arts & Sciences at USFQ.   Dr. Carlos Mena, a Carolina alumnus, is Professor of Environment & Life Sciences and Co-Director of the Isabela Center for Galapagos Studies at USFQ.

 

This seminar is part of the biannual UNC/USFQ Galapagos Seminar Series.
