Faculty & Students

The core of the Center for Galapagos Studies is composed of our faculty fellows, research scientists, and student associates from across the UNC campus.

To address the complex interactions of society and the environment of the Galapagos Archipelago, the Center is by necessity an interdisciplinary entity.  CGS faculty and students have academic homes in anthropology, biology, city & regional planning, ecology, economics, epidemiology, environmental sciences & engineering, geography, geological sciences, health behavior & health education, journalism & mass communication, marine science, nutrition, public policy, and sociology.

Administration

The Center's administration works in conjunction with several faculty committees providing consultation and guidance on specific topics.

USFQ Collaborators

The Center for Galapagos Studies work closely with our colleagues at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito on the administration of the Galapagos Science Center research facility on Isla San Cristobal as well as specific research projects.
